It’s that festive time of year again, and Athora is all ready for our annual Christmas contest. This year’s theme is Merrier and Brighter. Below you’ll find out three staff entries and two attorney entries and your chance to vote! Voting ends December 19, 2025. Our winner will be announced at our team’s Christmas party.
Merrier & Brighter means spreading cheer, joy, and the holiday spirit. No one does it better than Whoville!!
When I think of our decorating theme, Merrier & Brighter, naturally I think of my favorite Christmas movie. In National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Clark Griswold’s mission is to host a fun old-fashioned family Christmas and to decorate his home better and brighter than anyone else. In homage to Clark, I present to you my vision of Merrier & Brighter. Drum roll, please . . .
This year, our work embraced the theme “Merrier and Brighter.” My display drew from the natural lights that have guided and inspired us long before electric Christmas lights—candles, a glowing fire, and the ethereal hues of the northern lights. In these longest nights of the year, the darkness reminds us of the beauty and warmth that comes when we gather together.
By highlighting these natural illuminations, we celebrate the timeless joy found in shared moments of merriment. Even in the depts of winter, the stars, moon, and northern lights once brought people together, creating a sense of wonder and connection that lives on today. My decorations are a tribute to that enduring natural magic: a reminder that, even in darkness, light brings warmth, happiness, and togetherness.
“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
This tree embodies the Merrier and Brighter theme by celebrating the joy of the season through bold color, playful design, and glowing light. Forget traditional red and green—this is a full-on explosion of hot pink, purple, teal, lime, and every joyful color willing to join the party. Packed with vintage ornaments, sparkling baubles, and pops of glitter, it’s basically holiday cheer in 3D. And the marquee lights? They don’t just glow—they announce themselves, lighting up “ATHORA” like our own festive billboard. The whole tree sparkles, shimmers, and practically winks at anyone who walks by making it a joyful focal point that radiates positivity, fun, and festive spirit. It’s a tree designed to make the season feel merrier, and the room shine brighter.
“Star of Wonder, Star of Night” brings the season’s magic to life with a radiant, celestial theme. The tree is adorned entirely with star ornaments of every shape and size, shimmering in layered metallics that catch and reflect the light. Inspired by the guiding star of Bethlehem, the display offers a gentle reminder of the hope and meaning at the heart of Christmas—perfectly capturing the spirit of “Merrier and Brighter.”
