Our annual Christmas decorating contest is back for the second year! This year’s theme is: The Christmas of My Dreams. Check out how our attorneys and staff leaned into this phrase to decorate Athora’s office for the holidays. Below you’ll find the entries and a link where you can vote on your favorite.
Voting is open until December 30th. We’ll announce the winner on New Year’s Eve!
Description: This holiday setup is inspired by the cherished tradition of making gingerbread houses with family. The warm, spiced sent of gingerbread fills the air with frosting-covered fingers, and the joy of creating something beautiful. Oh, how wonderful it would be to live in that gingerbread village, where the walls are delicious and the décor is sweet frosting with candy accents.
We chose a “vintage” themed Christmas because it reflects on a time when the Christmas holiday was more than just gift giving. The colors and decorations that are inspired by traditions and styles from previous decades evoke a sense of nostalgia and bring a timeless feel to holiday celebrations.
Vintage ornaments, lights, decorations, cards, and wrapping all conjure up happy memories of Christmases past and serve as tangible mementos of holidays shared with family and friends. Finding these objects, decorating, and sharing them with others brings an instant feeling of comfort and joy.
Description: The Christmas of my dreams is a celebration of all the things that fill my heart with warmth and joy. It’s a perfect blend of cherished traditions and the little things that make the season special. Imagine going to bed on Christmas Eve with green grass beneath you, only to wake up to a serene blanket of freshly fallen snow.
The sounds of Christmas songs—those beloved tunes we only hear this time of year—fill the air, setting the tone for the holiday spirit that flows through our homes and hearts. And no Christmas is complete without remembering the story that defines the season: “Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus,” a reminder of the belief, joy, and wonder that embodies Christmas.
But above all, Christmas is about family. The love and laughter shared with those closest to us make the holiday unforgettable. My tree stands as a tribute to all these precious moments—each ornament and decoration a symbol of what Christmas means to me. From delicate snowflakes that represent the beauty of the season to the images of my family gracing the tree, every detail is a piece of the dream I hold dear.
Description: This tree is a tribute to The Nutcracker, a timeless ballet that brings to life little Clara’s dream on a very special Christmas Eve. The delicate ballerinas twirl gracefully among a confectionary wonderland of candy-inspired ornaments, evoking the sweetness and magic of Christmas. My tree captures that magic and excitement children around the world feel on Christmas Eve with their dreams of sugar-plum fairies dancing in their heads. It’s also a nod to the traditions we pass along through generations, and stories that resonate with us long after they’re told.
Update: Congratulations to our winners! Staff Entry 2: Vintage Christmas won our staff contest. Attorney Entry 1: My Favorite Things won our attorney contest! Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote!
